2016 Season - Week 21

BUMSBowl XXI Preview

The Leamington Porcupines (#1 seed) are aiming to become just the third franchise to do the double following Marcus way back in 2001 and Johnnie who in 2009 and 2010 did the double double. It’s the second BUMSBowl appearance for Craig who lost to Andy H 44-31 in BUMSBowl XVII back in 2012. Trying to prevent his double is upset minded number 3 seed Chief who is making the BUMSBowl for a record tying (with Mark) sixth time. He is looking to break a three way tie with Daz and Marcus and become the first owner to win the BUMSBowl on four occasions having won it in 2000, 2003 and 2008. Craig is 10-7 in the post season and is 2-1 in the Championship round while Chief is now a very impressive 36-17 in the postseason but just 6-6 in the penultimate round. Road To The Final – Craig (#1) squeezed past David S (#16) 24-23 in the wildcard round, then beat Dave G (#13) 16-10 in the divisional round and held off AP (#7) 31-30 in the championship round. Chief (#3 seed) beat George (#14) in the wildcard 30-26, then Andy H (#8) 22-16 in the divisional and upset (#2) Marcus in the championship round 43-29. Last year BUMSBowl XX saw the lowest two seeds in the final ever as John (#16) upset Mark (#10) and a year later it’s the highest seeds since 2010 when #1 Johnnie beat #2 Chief. Of historical note the number 1 seed has won the BUMSBowl three times but the number 3 seed has won it four times. Both owners were quick to get their teams to the Commissioner’s office and they only had two players the same so the BUMSBowl rosters are as follows:- LEAMINGTON PORCUPINES (1) v LANGLEY RAPTORS (3) QB Matt Ryan (Atl) $1m QB Tom Brady (NE) $1m K Stephen Gostkowski (NE) $2m K Matt Bryant (Atl) $0.5m RB LeGarrette Blount (NE) $1m = RB LeGarrette Blount (NE) $1m RB Tevin Coleman (Atl) $0.5m = RB Tevin Coleman (Atl) $0.5m Rec Mohamed Sanu (Atl) $0.5m Rec Julio Jones (Atl) $2m Rec Julian Edelman (NE) $0.5m Rec Chris Hogan (NE) $0.5m However note that by declaring their teams a week early if any player is inactive for the game they will be replaced and the two owners will select their outfield backups during the week. Should their QB or Kicker be made inactive they will see them replaced by the NFL teams replacement.
